Discover the Art of Creating Your Own Justice Box

Are you passionate about expressing your values through art? Do you want to create something meaningful that reflects your cultural narratives and personal memories? Join our transformative 4-week course in designing and creating your own collaged Justice Box (Tzedakah Box).

Since ancient times a Tzedakah Box has helped individuals maintain a commitment to practice justice, kindness, and social community involvement. This can be as simple as volunteering at your local Neighbourhood Centre, or baking and delivering food for a neighbour who has been ill and needs support.

Part 1: Unearthing Your Passion

In the first week, we will dive deep into discovering what truly drives you. Through guided discussions and creative exercises, you will articulate your passions and identify the cultural narratives that are important to you. This foundational step is crucial in ensuring that your Justice Box is a true reflection of your unique perspective and values.

Part 2: Conceptualising Your Design

With a clear understanding of your passions and cultural narratives, the second week focuses on conceptualising your Justice Box design. You will learn how to translate your ideas into actionable, practical outcomes. Your tutor will guide you through the process of planning your collage, creating hand-painted papers, or using recycled materials, and creating a cohesive design that tells your story.

Part 3: Creating Your Personal Memory Talisman

In the third week, you will create a personal memory talisman. This talisman will serve as a reminder and motivation for your tasks and actions. You will explore different techniques and materials to create a piece that holds deep personal significance and complements the overall design of your Justice Box.

Part 4: Bringing Your Justice Box to Life

The final week is dedicated to assembling and finalising your Justice Box. You will bring together all the elements you’ve created, ensuring that your box is a powerful representation of your passions and cultural narratives. Your tutor will provide personalised feedback and support to help you refine your design and achieve your artistic vision.
